2013年11月:ダイアン・クライスのダイアリー

ブルージュのクライス・レースショップのお向かいに日本食レストランがあります。お店の名前は「たぬき」。

Across Claeys shop in Bruges, there is a Japanese restaurant. The name of the restaurant is Tanuki.

オフィーリアとエリザベスは日本人のお友達に「たぬき」でのディナーに招待され大喜び。招いてくれたお友達へ感謝の気持ちを表すために、彼女らは絵を描きました。

Ophelia and Elisabeth are invited by a Japanese friend to have dinner at Tanuki. They are both so happy. Out of gratitude they made a drawing for our friend.

ピーちゃんとリーちゃんが日本に来ることをどれだけ楽しみにしているか、疑う余地もありませんね。

No doubt how much Pheechan and Riichan are looking forward to come to Japan.

長野の初雪

今朝、ビックリする光景に出会いました。

This morning we had a surprise ...

玄関を開けてみると息を飲むような浅間山の光景が目に飛び込んできたのです。

Coming out of our front door, we had this breathtaking view of Mt. Asama.

山頂付近は大急ぎで冬の装いへ。麓ではまだ秋のすばらしい色彩を見せています。自然は優雅で美しい。あなたもそう思うでしょ！

The top of the mountain is busy preparing for winter. The foot of the mountain still shows a wonderful color palette of autumn. Nature in all its gracious beauty, don't you think so?

小諸懐古園までお散歩

長野では紅葉がとてもきれいな季節となりました。私たちは心地よい季節を楽しむため、小諸まで６Kmの道のりを歩いてきました。懐古園では菊花展(東信菊花展：2013年10月20日～11月7日　小諸城址「懐古園」馬場)を楽しみに大勢の人が訪れていました。

The autumn colors are so beautiful in Nagano. We went to Komoro by foot ( 6 KM) to enjoy the nice weather. In Kaikooen, there were many people to enjoy the chrysanthemum exhibition.

そこには力士の菊人形まであり、制作された方にお会いすることが出来ました。

There was even a sumo made in chrysanthemum. We could meet the artist.

その後、小諸にある昔ながらの喫茶店でおいしいデザートをいただきました。私たちはふだん、あまり甘いものは食べないのですが、これは特別な出来事となりました。
エルウィンはチョコレートパフェを見て、とても、とても、とても幸せそうです。私は抹茶クリームあんみつをいただきました。

Then we had a special dessert in a traditional kissaten in Komoro. For some time we didn't eat sweets but this was a special occasion.
My husband was soooooo happy to see the chocolate parfait . I had matcha creme anmitsu.

ハロウィンとエリザベスのお誕生日

2013年11月01日

今日はハロウィン、クライス家にとってこの日の最大の関心事は孫娘です。(Dianeがこのブログを書いたのは10月31日。訳者の都合により11月1日に掲載しています)

Today is Halloween. For our family, the attention goes to our grandchild.

今日エリザベスが六歳になります。私たちは日本人がデザインしたお人形さんを贈りました。Lies(エリザベスのニックネーム)はとても喜んでいます。とてもかわいらしい表情を見せます。

Liesje、お誕生日おめでとう!!(Liesjeもエリザベスのニックネーム。フラマン語で「小さなElisabeth」の意味)

Elisabeth becomes 6 years today. We sent her a doll by a Japanese designer. Lies ( her nickname) was very pleased. She is so cute.
