カーニバル(謝肉祭)はカトリックのお祭りを起源として、イースター(復活祭)の40日前に行われます。人々は好きな衣装で着飾ることができます。
In origin, Carnival is a Catholic festivity. Carnival starts 40 days before Easter. People can dress up in any costume they want.
孫たちはカーニバルの衣装で学校のパーティーに行きます。
Our granchildren are going to a school party in their carnival costume.
面白い習慣でしょう？

Hope - 希望

長野は大雪にみまわれ、信じられない光景です。その雪の白さは目がくらむようでした。
There was a lot of snow falling in Nagano. It was unbelievable. Our eyes had to get used to the purity of the whiteness.
時を同じくしてブルージュの空には二重の虹がかかり、ナタリーから写真が送られてきました。そのタイトルは「希望」。
At the same time, there was a double rainbow in the sky in Bruges. Nathalie sent the photo. The title was " Hope ".
虹は未来への架け橋です。
The rainbow is the bridge to the future.

答えは“フリット”。
The answer is FRIET.
フレンチフライの発祥の地・ベルギーでは、フレンチフライは“フリット”と呼ばれています。街角にはフリットスタンドが立ち並び、各々工夫したパッケージに入った“フリット”に、こだわりのソースをかけて楽しみます。「AND THE FRIET（アンド・ザ・フリット）」は、そんな本場ベルギー感覚で楽しめるフレンチフライの専門店。
French Fries are very popular in Belgium where the "French Fries" are actually called "Friet." One can find many "Friet" stands on the streets there with each serving "Friet" in their own specialized packages and their own special sauces along with their "Friet."

A Friet shop in Japan opened in Hiroo, Tokyo.
